Where to Stay in Poznań: Our Hotel, Tried and Tested
By Jérôme R · Visited in July 2026 · Updated · How we work
Poznań was only a one-night stop for us, but the hotel we chose did the job well. Here's our experience, rounded out with a guide by district for a longer stay. Also check out our stroll through Poznań's city centre.
The hotel we tried: Ibis Poznań Stare Miasto
True story, July 2026: we spent our only night in Poznań at the Ibis Poznań Stare Miasto, a convenient chain hotel for a short stop, close to the historic centre. A simple, no-surprises choice, exactly what you'd expect from a well-located budget chain: clean, functional, and a reasonable walk from the Stary Rynek.
One night was enough: the hotel is central, so we left the car in the hotel's indoor car park — very easy to access and secure, with a code on the way in and out — and did everything on foot. The only drawback for a family of four: we needed two rooms, on the same floor but not next to each other.

Where to stay in Poznań
Stare Miasto (the Old Town). The most convenient district for a tourist stay, centred on the Stary Rynek. This is where we stayed, and the obvious choice for a short stop like ours.
A note on other districts: some of the content you'll find online about accommodation in Poznań is geared towards Erasmus students rather than tourists — Poznań being a major university city. If you're looking for accommodation for a typical tourist stay, stick to the central districts around Stare Miasto rather than residential areas geared more towards student life.
