Poland, a Cool-Weather Destination for Summer
By Jérôme R · Visited in July 2026 · Updated · How we work
If you're looking to escape the heatwaves that regularly hit southern Europe in summer, Poland deserves a spot on your list. Here's our own real experience of the Polish climate in July 2026, over a two-week road trip across the country.
Our impression, for real
True story, July 2026: we'd come from a hot climate, and the Polish coolness did us a lot of good from the moment we arrived in Kraków — overcast, even slightly rainy weather, but very pleasant. Throughout the trip, we enjoyed sunny days without the stifling heat peaks we sometimes get back home or in southern Europe. On the Baltic coast (Łeba), the coolness was especially noticeable, with mild temperatures and cool sea water (17-18°C).
We had a few rainy days (notably in Zakopane), but overall, the Polish summer climate turned out to be one of the trip's great assets: enjoying the outdoors without suffering the heat.
