How much should you budget for a 3-day weekend in Kraków? We spent 2 nights and nearly 3 days there: here are our actual costs, item by item.

Accommodation

True story, July 2026: we paid €141 for our first night at the MEININGER Kraków Centrum (family room for 4), and €75 for the second — €216 for our 2 nights, the price halving or doubling depending on when you book.

Wawel Castle and the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial

Again as a rough guide and per person (full price, no discount): entry to Wawel Castle cost us 47 zł (€11) for the underground exhibitions and 57 zł (€13) for the castle's upper floor, plus 15 zł (€3.50) for the Dragon's Den — around 119 zł (€27) per person, or nearly €110 for our family of 4. For the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial, the French-language guided tour we took costs around €45 per person, so nearly €180 for a family of 4.

Meals

Allow on average 52 to 75 zł per person (€12–17) for a restaurant meal, with a wide range depending on the type of meal (from 16 to 120 zł). Over our 3 days there and for a family of 4, plan a food budget of around €130 to €215 if you eat out for every meal, less if you top up with supermarket shopping.
