Everything you need to organise the logistics of a Tricity trip: the transfer from the airport, getting between the three cities, a rough budget, and the journey from Kraków. Before you go, check out our highlights in Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia.

Gdańsk Airport → city centre

Lech Wałęsa Airport can be reached by bus (line 210, or night line N3, for a 40-55 minute journey) or by PKM regional train to Gdańsk Wrzeszcz (about 20-25 minutes). A taxi or ride-hailing car (Uber, Bolt) costs roughly 40-70 zł depending on traffic. Tickets are bought from machines or via the jakdojade.pl app.

Getting around the Tricity by SKM

The SKM regional train links Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia at high frequency during the day, with an extension to the airport (PKM line). Following a fare increase that took effect in March 2026, expect around 9 zł for a Gdańsk-Sopot journey and around 11 zł for Gdańsk-Gdynia (rates to confirm on site, as the exact pricing changes). Combined day tickets also exist for stays involving several journeys.

Rough budget and best time to visit

A full meal costs roughly 55-100 zł per person according to general travel guides (figures to take as a rough order of magnitude, not Tricity-specific). For accommodation, expect very roughly 300-450 zł a night for a private room, and 800-1,300 zł for a 3-4-star hotel in peak season. The best window for a seaside stay runs from mid-June to early September.

From Kraków

Gdańsk is the furthest destination from Kraków among those covered on this site: about 580 km. The direct Pendolino train takes around 5 hours; journeys with a change can run up to 9 hr 30 min. By car, allow around 5 hr 30 min via the A1 motorway (via Częstochowa and Łódź). Direct flights also exist between the two cities — worth comparing depending on your budget and time available.
