The SKM train links the three Tricity towns in a matter of minutes, making it easy to stay in one and visit the other two without hassle — the choice mostly comes down to the vibe you're after. Also check out our highlights in the Tricity.

Gdańsk, Old Town

Walking access to all the historic sights, restaurants and nightlife, but a livelier, noisier district, with no beach immediately nearby.

Gdańsk, seaside (Jelitkowo, Brzeźno)

A few minutes' walk from the beach, a calmer, family-friendly atmosphere, but you'll need the tram or SKM to reach the Old Town.

Sopot

Right by the pier and the beach, in a lively, upmarket atmosphere. It's generally the most expensive part of the Tricity in peak season, and the busiest in summer.

Gdynia (Orłowo, Kamienna Góra)

A calmer stay, with lovely views over the bay, but fewer historic sights on the doorstep — you'll need the SKM to reach Gdańsk or Sopot.

Is it better to stay in Gdańsk or Sopot?

Gdańsk for the heritage and historic neighbourhood life, Sopot for the beach and seaside atmosphere. Since the SKM links the two towns in 10-15 minutes, either option makes it easy to enjoy the other town too.
